FESTIVAL VR

The Future of VR: Where Is All This Going?

When we look at VR today, we see a technology that is still learning to walk. Headsets are getting lighter, images sharper, and creators bolder. But where is it all heading? We asked our team and invited experts to share a few thoughts.

The next five years will be defined above all by democratization. Hardware is getting cheaper faster than most analysts predicted. Good VR headsets already cost less than a handful of concert tickets. In a decade this could be an accessory as common as headphones. And when VR becomes mainstream, everything changes — education, therapy, work, entertainment.

“The question is not whether VR will change the world. The question is how fast — and whether we are ready.”

In medicine, VR is already helping treat phobias, rehabilitate stroke patients, and train surgeons. In architecture, it lets you walk through a building that does not yet exist. In education — it moves students inside a biological cell or onto the deck of a sixteenth-century ship. This is not science fiction. These are things happening right now, in laboratories and classrooms around the world.

Our festival is part of that story. We believe that art always goes where technology opens new doors — and that artists are always the first to understand what that technology truly means for people. Stay with us. The best is yet to come.
